FINALIZATION OF CARGILL'S ACQUISITION OF AALST CHOCOLATE

We are delighted to announce the finalization of Cargill’s acquisition of Aalst Chocolate Pte Ltd in Singapore! Together with Aalst Chocolate, Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate footprint in APAC now comprises 7 facilities in Indonesia, Singapore, India, and Thailand, supported by R&D capabilities in Singapore, Shanghai, and Gurgaon with some 700 employees. With our expanded portfolio, we are excited about the opportunity to better serve our customers’ specialty product needs and business growth aspirations, as a leading integrated cocoa & chocolate supplier in the region.
CARGILL TO ACQUIRE AALST, LEADING ASIAN CHOCOLATE SUPPLIER

Responding to an Asian marketplace sweet on chocolate products, Cargill has entered into an agreement to acquire Aalst Chocolate Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based world-class chocolate manufacturer. Pending regulatory approval and closing conditions, the acquisition will significantly expand Cargill’s Asia-Pacific footprint, adding chocolate to its existing portfolio of cocoa products, already sold throughout the region.

CERTIFIED WITH BIZSAFE LEVEL 4

The Workplace Safety and Health Council is pleased to certify that Aalst Chocolate Pte Ltd has fulfilled the requirements to attain bizSAFE Level 4.

Started in 2007, bizSAFE is a program designed to help companies build workplace safety and health (WSH) capabilities. In September 2017, the program has included SGSecure elements to help companies to put in place measures to manage potential terror threats.
Rainforest Alliance Endorsement Certificate

CERTIFIED WITH ISO 14001

Aalst Chocolate was certified with ISO 14001 as of 7th January 2019. Aalst Chocolate takes pride in caring for our environment and take efforts to reduce our environmental footprints that cause negative impacts to the environment.
ISO 14000 is a family of standards related to environmental management that exists to help organizations minimize how their operations negatively affect the environment; comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements; and continually improve in the above.
SEDEX MEMBER

Aalst Chocolate became a member of Sedex (www.sedexglobal.com). Sedex is home to one of the world’s largest collaborative platform for buyers, suppliers and auditors to store, share and report on information quickly and easily. The platform is used by more than 50,000 members in over 150 countries to manage performance around labour rights, health & safety, the environment and business ethics.
Sedex is not a standard setting body and doesn’t approve or certify our policies and standards. Instead, being a member of Sedex is a sign of Aalst Chocolate’s willingness to share information and to use this information to help manage and improve ethical standards within the supply chain.
PARTNERSHIP WITH WILMAR INTERNATIONAL

Breaking annoucement - We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Wilmar International. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary KOG Investments Pte Ltd, Wilmar has acquired a 50% equity interest in Aalst Chocolate.
Mr Richard Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Aalst Chocolate said, “This joint venture would allow Aalst to leverage on Wilmar’s vast manufacturing and distribution network in Asia, Aalst can further penetrate into China, a rapidly growing chocolate market and also expand into new geographies.'

The Silver award is awarded to food manufacturers who have achieved Grade 'A' status for 10 consecutive years for excellence in food hygiene, sanitation and processing.
